- Sales for Outlook Client
- Posted by Greg Williams on July 15th, 2005
I don't know how it happened, but my SFO client is hosed. The toolbar won't
show up in Outlook. I checked disabled items and it doesn't show up there
either.
If I try to reinstall, it tells me that it is already installed. If I try
to uninstall, I get a message that it doesn't exist.
Any ideas on how to fix this without hacking apart my registry?

In Outlook, try adding the forms cache. Go to Tools > Options > Other tab >
Advanced Options > Custom Forms > Manage Forms > Clear Cache. If that doesn't
work, you need to reload the add-in. On the Advanced Options tab above, click
on Add-In Manager. Whether CRMadd-in is there or not, click install and
navigate to the crmaddin.dll which should be on your C drive where you
installed SFO. (A search of your drive should turn this file up so you can
locate it.)
Hope this helps.

Each time my CRM toolbar goes missing I re-apply it.
*Make sure you're connected to the Domain where the CRM Server resides (in
my case I log onto the VPN)
1. Launch Outlook
2. Go to Tools | Options
3. Select the Other tab
4. Select Advanced Options
5. Select COM Add-ins
6. Highlight Microsoft CRM Outlook Add-in and note the location path below
it. (You may want to write this down since you will need it in step 13)
7. Select remove to remove the Microsoft CRM Outlook Add-in
8. Select OK to all windows and close Outlook / Launch Outlook
9. Go to Tools | Options
10. Select the Other Tab
11. Select Advanced Options
12. Select COM Add-ins
13. Select Add
14. Navigate to the path from step 6 (If there was not one specified try
/Program Files/CRM/Client/Bin/crmaddin.dll)
15. Select OK to all windows
16. Close Outlook
17. Re-launch Outlook
