Sales For Outlook - Installation Ended Prematurely Because of an Error
Posted by tonya@salamandertechnologies.com on February 17th, 2005

I've followed all the steps in KB Article 829467 to try to get Sales
for Outlook installed on a certain client machine with no luck. The
last time I ran the installation I created a log file.

Below is a snippet of the log containing the first mention of a fatal
error:

MSI (c) (34:48) [16:24:31:153]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Deleting
SECONDSEQUENCE property. Its current value is '1'.
Action ended 16:24:31: ExecuteAction. Return value 3.
MSI (c) (34:48) [16:24:31:153]: Note: 1: 33
MSI (c) (34:48) [16:24:31:153]: Doing action: Fatal_Error
Action start 16:24:31: Fatal_Error.
MSI (c) (34:20) [16:24:31:694]: Note: 1: 2205 2: 3: _RemoveFilePath
MSI (c) (34:20) [16:24:32:355]: MSCOREE not loaded loading copy from
system32

Any suggestions?

Has anyone who got this error successfully implemented a work around?

I could not get past the error and tried pretty much everything and more.
Ultimately to resolve the issue, due to certain time constraints, I reimaged
the machine and SFO installed successfully. I was fully confident that this
would work, but it is extremely last measure. This leads me to believe, after
the fact, that the user's profile may have been corrupt. If any of your
experience this error again, try backing up the user's files, log into the
machine as an administrator, then log back into the machine as that user to
have the profile recreated, and attempt to install SFO.
