- Sales Stage Ordering
- Posted by sh on December 15th, 2004
Hi All -
Sorry if this is a basic question, but I have not been able to find the
answer in this group or other online resource. We've taken the SPI
Sales Process and modified it slightly:
- Changed the names of the Sales Stages
- Changed the probabilities
- Added one additional activity
The problem we're having is that the reports (e.g. Opportunity |
Pipeline Chart Report By Sales Stage) seem to order the sales stages in
a somewhat random order (e.g. 4th stage then 1st stage then 3rd
stage...).
So my first question is this - How do you "tell" CRM the order of the
sales stages so that they appear in a logical order in the reports?
Perhaps this isn't possible and I need to use Cyrstal to modify the
reports...
Second question is related to Crystal. I've seen conflicting posts.
Which version of Crystal should I get (9.x or 10.x, Professional or
Developer or Standard)?
Thanks in advance.

Without seeing your process, I assume that the processes and activities are
coming out in Alphabetical order?
If so, add a numeric prefix to everything will overcome this problem.
You need Crystal 9 - however you can get Crystal 10 to work BUT ONLY IF you
go through the upgrade path from 9.
Oh and you can;t use 'standard'.
Guy.

Thanks Guy. The names are the sales stages are literally these
(without the -):
- Lead (10%)
- Qualified Opportunity (20%)
- Executive Sponsorship (40%)
- Solution Proposed (60%)
- Solution Validated (80%)
However, in the reports they come out as:
- Executive Sponsorship (40%)
- Solution Proposed (60%)
- Qualified Opportunity (20%)
- Solution Validated (80%)
- Lead (10%)
So, it doesn't appear to be alphabetical... Any other thoughts? Thanks
for the thoughts on Cyrstal 10.
/s.
