- Saving your place in CRM
- Posted by IsoChick on September 2nd, 2005
I have a telesales-person working their way through our leads on CRM, but she
is finding it hard to keep her place.
When she logs off/disqualifies a lead, she loses her place in the "leads"
screen. At the moment she is on page 9 of about 400, and has to click
through to that page to get to her last point.
Is there a way of flagging the last person called so she can pick up where
she left off quickly, rather than writing the company down on a piece of
paper and searching for it. It will take her ages when she is on page 100+
to click through/scroll to it!
Thanks

If she is using the Convert Lead button and disqualifying the leads, create a
view with filter criteria Lead Status > Equals > Open, and make this the
default view for leads. Then she will only see the leads that are open, and
won't have to click through all the disqualified leads. If this is not the
method you are using, you can have her change a field on the lead, for
example, the Rating field, with values like Cold, Warm, and Hot. When she
works a lead and finds they are not interested, she can change the dropdown
to "Cold." And you can create a view that shows only Warm and Hot leads for
her to call.
You may also consider adjusting which column the leads sort on in the view
you are currently using, and change the sort order to show the leads you want
at the top of your view.

This isn't the problem - we qualify & disqualify the leads and only look at
the open leads and mark them as "warm", "cold" etc.
The problem is that when she finishes her calls at the end of the day and
closes CRM down, on opening next morning, she is back to the first lead on
the page 1, irrespective of the fact that her last call was ha;f way down
page 32 (for example).
I need a way of flagging where she was, rather than just writing down the
lead/company she was at.
Thanks

If your leads are sorted alphabetically by first name, and the view only
includes open leads, then she should always be calling the first lead on the
first page. If she disqualifies the lead, it will disappear from the view,
and she can call the next lead which is now in the first position. If she
converts the lead to an opportunity, it will disappear from the view, and she
can again call the lead that has now moved into the first position.
Or am I not understanding something about how you are working?
Alternately: add a picklist field with two values: "Called" and a default
value of "Not Called" and have her change it to "Called" after she calls
them. Show this picklist in your view of the leads and she can quickly go to
the next lead that is "Not Called."
