Scheduling activities - promoting error
Posted by Jerry Haynes on June 25th, 2006

All of our users are receiving an error when scheduling an activity in either
CRM Client for Outlook or the web-based application. ALL users are assigned
to the System Administrator role.

Error in CRM Client:
"An error occured promoting this item to Microsoft CRM. The Microsoft CRM
server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to
perform this action. This item has been saved to Microsoft Outlook but is not
being tracked in Microsoft CRM"

Error in Web-based application:
"An error has occured. For more information, contact your system
administrator."
A second window then appears: "General failure in scheduling engine".

I've done a repair installation on the CRM server without resolve.

Help!
Jerry

Did you find a resolution? I have the same issue.

Yes I did - after ~ 3 hours of Microsoft dialed into my CRM server.

We had removed one of the required fields from the CRM Appointment form. We
removed the "Status Reason" which was triggering the error. If you've
removed any of the fields from the Appointment form, re-add it and you should
be fine.

are you saying because you had previously removed the status reason field you
were receiving this error or once you removed the field the issue stopped?

please advise.

thanks!
