Sending email to Task creator when task is completed
Posted by Gabi Broitman on March 26th, 2008

Hi all.
This is the scenario:
I open a new task and assign it to one of my employees.
The owner of the task is him now (let's call him Chris).
When Chris completes the task he goes to 'action'-->'close task'.

I tried to create a workflow where the creator of the task gets a
notification when Chris is closing it. However, for some reason, the only one
in the workflow manager that appears as an option to recieve a notification
mail is the Owner of the task. and since the owner of the task is Chris, then
it is completly useless.

Does anyone knows how i can solve this problem?
Thanks.

I just checked it and you right. You can’t send an e-mail from workflow to
the case creator. I see two options.
1. Upgrade to CRM 4.0. I checked it and there you can do it.
2. Make an assembly that sends the email and call that assembly from you
workflow.
