- Service Appointment refresh delay CRM 4.0
- Posted by Jean-Luc on May 16th, 2008
Hi,
We've migrated from CRM 3.0 to 4.0 last month.
Since the migration, we have a trouble with the service Calendar.
When an operator changes the date of a service appointment, the calendar is
not updated immediatly. It can take 30 minutes to show the appointement at
the new date.
That can create conflicts between the 8 operators who book appointments for
a pool of technicians.
The CRM server doesn't seem to be too busy.
Did you noticed the same problem ?
How can I force the refresh of the service calendar ?
Regards.
Jean-Luc.

We have had the same problem, and have not yet managed to find a solution to
the problem.
I know that the server is not to busy, and I have tried it on a few
organisations and get the same issue. Even if Outlook is closed and reopened
it does not help.
I hope that someone may have an answer to this problem.

I have seen this at two client sites and two training labs also now...
Very easy to re-produce, here are my findings so far...
Appointment:
1. Open and change the date - no refresh, might happen in a while.
Sometimes restarting the Aync service seems to force it.
Service Activity:
1. If you use the "Reschedule" button the change of date doesn't get saved
at all.
2. If you change the date manually, behaves same as appointment (chage saved
but not updated in service calendar).
3. If you open the service activity and click "Schedule" in the toolbar and
then save, the change is saved and the service calendar is updated.
Hopefully there is an answer soon, as service scheduling and appointment
scheduling is not really impressing customers with this bug, and they always
ask about rescheduling an acitivty when someone calls in sick.
Cheers,
Ozan.
