Service Calendar?
Posted by Ryan J.S. on January 11th, 2006

We've been having the same problem with the Service Calendar. Most confusing
is the fact that whether or not the SC will display varies from person to
person; it is also not consistent from Outlook client to web client with the
same username.

This seems pretty obviously a user-security problem but I'm not sure how to
go about fixing it. Anyone know what's causing this?

Thanks,
Ryan J.S.

Same problem with us. The Service Calendar is not availble in the Outlook
Client. If the client is disabled (by changing the security settings in IE)
then it reappears on the web client.

The loss of the calendar makes the Outlook client more of a handicap than
anything. Unfortunately, we then lose the opportunity to promote emails to
CRM.

I would love to hear a solution to this bugaboo.

There's a real easy solution to this problem.

We created to domains. both points to our CRM-server

The one of them is used for Outlook. And the other is used when you use the
browser.

Eg. http://crm01 is used for the Outlook client, and http://crm01web is used
for the browser. Works like a charm.

As an alternative, we also have found that if the user opens CRM web before
openning Outlook, the service calendar loads. And, if you can't get it to
load from within CRM, the url for the service calendar is the CRM
path/sm/home_apptbook.aspx. (i.e. http://crm/sm/home_apptbook.aspx).
