- Slow IE clients
- Posted by swanny on February 15th, 2007
Hi All,
I am being frustrated by a client issue in CRM 3.0
PC1: Running Vista and IE 7. No proxy config. CRM runs fine in
IE - really fast, no problems.
PC2: Running XP with SP2 and IE6 with SP2. As PC is a user PC it has
a auto proxy config script entry in IE. On logging in to CRM
performance is slow when clicking on some entries - takes about 20
seconds to load the screen. I have installed the Outlook CRM client
on the same PC - this runs fine and gives similar performance to PC1.
On PC2 I removed the auto proxy config script in IE6 but the problem
still remains.
The problem appears to be affecting all CRM users - all PCs are the
same build\config as PC2 above.
Anyone help?

Update:
Further investigations have shown that it works fine in IE when the
host is a dual core or HT enabled system. Single core setups suffer
the slow page loading everytime.
Any help appreciated.

Try this hotfix.
You experience slow performance when you try to load forms in Microsoft

Hi swanny,
we just confirmed this to be a problem with IE 6 this weekend. Depending on
your network bandwith it gets worse the higher the bandwith. Are you running
on gigabit? Try switching to 10 Mbit half duplex. What happens?
Regards

After weeks of endlessly searching blogs, news groups and internet
articles, I have finally found a fix for this problem that actually
works!!!!!!!!
I had this same problem that almost forced me to scrap this whole CRM
project. As soon as I would open CRM and click on Accounts, Contacts,
etc... or even after a few minutes of inactivity, my CRM would just
hang there loading the form or screen for what seemed like an
eternity. Totally impracticle. I adjusted the paging size, reinstalled
everything I could think of, service packed everything, applied
hotfixes, adjusted website settings and on and on and on....
I always assumed that it was a caching issue but could never find
where any setting for this was or even how to just turn it off. And
then I found this nifty tool that saved my sanity!!!!
http://blogs.msdn.com/joris_kalz/arc...hing-Tool.aspx
Just install it on the CRM server and follow the setup instruction.
this tool will cache your pages as frequently as you'd like and your
performance will increase 1000%.
Good Luck and spread the word!

My case was affected by using Google Desktop. Finally I unchecked indexing of
web history in GD settings and the response of Leads, Accounts etc. lists is
now OK.
