Lloyd,
There should be no problems with changing the synchronization client back
and forth. CRM will not allow both clients to be set to synchronize at the
same time, as, there are issues with updated activities, where duplicates
can be created.

You won't lose data because you changed the sync client from one to another.
Again, this was to keep duplicates from being created.
