- Upgrade from 1.2, or start over with 3?

Which is better the upgrade path, or starting over, given my situation: In
use for over 1 year, but usage fell way off. Now, very little usage. Contains
1200 contacts, 300 accounts, <100 contracts. Only 2000 activities recorded
over 1 year of use. Some customization--some tabs with fields, unique list of
relationship types and maybe some other lists. Use c360.
I'm tempted to start over--CRM3 on SQL2005, put c360 back in, then export
import data.
Is this scenario viable? In what ways is it better than an upgrade? What am
I overlooking?
Thanks

Honestly if there is so little usage then you may want to discuss with your
company the possiblity of abandoning the old database and started with a new
fresh crm 3.0 database.
However I would also ask the question why is usage so low. Installing v3
will not get users using the system unless you know why they failed to use
crm 1.2

What would be the best way to move the data in the 3-5 entities that matter?
Should I use Scribe? Or wait for the MS tool? I would like it be very easy,
and something that we can possibly repeat (after some time testing on the new
system).
Regarding "why" it's lack of use--we are addressing that, too.
Thanks,

I would say that if you want the data, then do an upgrade. There is no
benefit to trying to "start fresh" unless you are going to go back to some
other source and re-import data from there. If you are going to use the
data that is already in there, then why even add that complexity?
