In SQL Server Enterprise Manager How is your SQL Server registerd?
SQL Authentication/NT Authentication?
Is your server listed as (local) or by its netbios name?
Is it the only instance of SQL on the box?
Are there any funky Apps on the box?
Do you have any other administrative machines with enterprise manager
installed on them? What happens when they try to connect to the CRMSQL box?
Regards.

We have the same message at one of our customers. They are using SBS.
Perhaps the upgrade advisor conflicts with a MSDE instance for SBSMonitoring
and Sharepoint?
Does anyone has an answer on this issue?

Sorry for my delayed response.
SQL Authentication/NT Authentication? Nt Authentication
Is your server listed as (local) or by its netbios name? By netbios,
server2003
there is only one instance
No, only one enterprise manager.

We have the same when using this advisor but we do have a splitted
installation. CRM 1.2 on one machine, SQL box on another machine (domain
controller) as advised by Microsoft in the documentation, both Windows Server
2003 SP1, non SBS.
None of the others posted here have mentioned if they have both the database
and CRM on the same machine or on separate machines.
Could it be an issue of the splitted installation or maybe something
regarding the language? We're using the german version of server OS and CRM.
Windows authentication on SQL, SQL is configured with the default instance
only.
I can't find any documentation how to do the upgrade in such a scenario.
It's only mentioned if Exchange and CRM are on other machines. Because the
upgrade advisor doesn't find the database, I'm not sure if an upgrade would
work the way as it is described in the upgrade document.
Can anybody give me an advice if it's possible to do an upgrade and what
needs to be considered in this case? Anybody know of a tool just to migrate
all the data from the old CRM 1.2 database into a new CRM 3.0? Any tipps are
welcome.
Ingrid
