Use calendar periods (eg Month, Year) in Contracts instead of day
Posted by WEBPC on September 29th, 2006

Currently when creating a contract the system records the duration in days.
When it is renewed the expiring number of days is used to calculate the new
period end date.

We use calendar dates (eg 23Feb06 to 22Mar06 or 23Feb06 to 22Feb08) for the
period of the contract. when you try and renew these the new period dates
are wrong.

You should be able to use a calendar period instead of just days

I feel your pain. Our contracts also run on calendar dates, not number of
days -- contracts are typically six months or twelve months. We have the
added problem where we need to track our contracts down to the minute for
legal reasons. For example, an annual contract that is effective at 12:01 am
on 11/1/2006 will expire at 12:00 am 11/1/2007. The new contract renews at
12:01 am 11/1/2007 -- the CRM tool will not allow us to do this.
