- Worflow sending to wrong Contact.
- Posted by MDV1457 on May 7th, 2007
I have a simple workflow rule that is set to send out an email to a contact
when a new case is created. On the case there is a field called
responsiblecontactid. I am noticing that the workflow is not sending the
notification to the user specified in this field. Is it because the workflow
is only referring the primary contact on the account record? If so, that's
definitely a bummer. A case can be created on behalf of many contacts that
are associated to a given account. Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks!

Hi,
To my understanding, your scenario is an expected behaviour. An email is
always sent to the entity which is related with regarding field. In your
case, you may need to set the contact in regarding field and than email will
be sent to the selected contact. Please test it and lets us know your results.
