My taskbar is not responding. my "start" button is not
there. All the programs that i have running is not in the
taskbar. Its really fustrating, and i need to get this
fixed a.s.a.p! Can you tell me how to fix this, so my
taskbar starts to work again? because, If my start menu
doesnt work. I cant open up certain programs. Right now
where the "start" button usually is, its completly white.
and hte whole task bar is gray, the clock isnt even in
there. please help me.

If you didn't do anything to change it, you may have been hit with
some sort of virus. Do a virus scan. If you don't have an up to date
anti-virus program, download one quickly. There are several good ones
available free; the one I use is AVAST! available from www.avast.com.
Would suggest that you also download a couple of programs to protect
you against malware. Two programs that are highly recommended in these
newsgroups are;
AdAware from www.lavasoft.com
Spybot Search & Destroy www.safer-networking.org/

In both cases, check for an update after downloading and then run the
program. In the meantime, have you right clicked in the grey taskbar
area, select TOOLBARS and make sure that the QUICK LAUNCH is checked.
