Cannot open any saved files in my documents. Keep
getting "winword.exe has caused an error, try restartng".
did that many times, still the same.

A frequent cause for this problem is a corrupt Word template file. Using
Explorer's Search look for all instance of the file normal.dot and rename them
normal.bak and then retry opening Word. If that solves the problem a new
default template file will automatically be recreated and you can delete the
files you renamed.
