- Error msg: Stmgr caused an error in Wintrust.DLL

After trying to download Media Player 9, system locked up
during installation. I was forced to do a cold boot as
nothing would respond. I used ctrl+alt+del and system
immidatly shut down with no warning, and then afterwards
always shows error message on start up. Restore no longer
funtions. I am told the only way to resolve is a full
restore. I hate to go that drastic. Is ther any other way
to fix?

First, try restoring wintrust.dll via Msconfig | Extract File .

Thanks, I will look into those articles. My skill I would
put at intermediate so I will use this info to decide my
