- Explorer caused error
- Posted by Max Rader on September 15th, 2003
I get an error message pop up at varoius times. It may
come right after turn on has completed. It say's Explorer
has caused an error in <unknown>. Explorer will now close.
If you continue to experiance problems , try restarting
your computer. If I delete the message, some times I can
keep going without a problem. If I click on "close" it
closes and I can't connect to the internet. I have to shut
down or reboot. If I ignore it, I can do whatever I want
with the error flag stuck on the screen. I have Windows ME
and it has been updated, but it did this befor the update
too.

The first thing I'd check for would be spyware or adware on your system. Go
to http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and download AdAware. Install it. Update
it. Run it. If it finds any unwanted guests on your system clean them off,
then restart. Keep running it and restarting the system until it's
completely clean.
