- French on my keyboard
- Posted by Kenknee on March 7th, 2004
I have just finished a trouble-free reinstal of Windows ME and have loaded
all critical updates and lots of other programs including Lotus Smart Suite
which I thought caused a failure to my keyboard language -- a change to
default French. So I uninstalled Lotus and checked the control panel
Regional Settings and it says English. I am stuck. Help please any ideas! .
Alpha and numeric keys are OK, but character keys are changed as follows in
these examples -- èçàéÇÀ .

Are you sure that you don't have a French keyboard layout selected? Control
Panel | Keyboard | Language? In Win Me this is distinct from your regional
settings unlike say XP where this setting is accessed via Regional Settings.
