Line In problem! Help?!
Posted by Mark Philpott on March 1st, 2004

Hello,
I've been trying to create Mp3 files from a cassette
tape. I took a line out from my hi fi's headphone socket
and into the PC's Line In. I could hear the tape thru the
PC so the connection must be okay(?). I used my
Musicmatch Jukebox to record and it seemed okay and at the
end created an MP3 File. However, when I tried to play it
back (on any software) all I got was silence! I HAVE
selected the Line In, not the Mic In and set up the
Windows volume controls, so it's nothing like that.
I have done this successfully once before, but it was a
long time ago and I must have gotten dumber with
age 'cause I can't get it to work now!
I have Windows ME and a Creative soundblaster PCI128 card.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me with my
plight? In theory it SHOULD have worked and it's very
frustrating that it won't!
Thank you,
Mark

Hi I had a similar problem using mm.jukebox .
1. volume on hi fi system to high
2. badly fitting jack to computer (you can still get sound through your
computer but only in mono)
