- ME Install Querie
- Posted by Alan Falkus on January 11th, 2004
I have just received a computer that had win NT 4.0 installed , with USB
ports on it
As I wanted to use the ports I decided to install Win ME.
Everything seems to have installed ok except I don't get the LOGO.SYS screen
at startup
nor do I get the LOGOS.SYS screen at shutdown.
Just a black screen is displayed.
Both the files are present and are in the correct folders and are the
correct size.
Are any of the experts out there able to help at all?
I know that this isn't earth shattering but does it mean that I havn't done
something correctly.
In anticipation of any assistance.
Alan.

Logo.sys should be in C:\ root folder
Check MSDOS.SYS under
options should have Logo=1 not Logo=0
MSDOS.SYS is a system hidden file in C:\
Remove the attributes and load into a text
editor and and amend.
[Paths]
WinDir=C:\WINDOWS
WinBootDir=C:\WINDOWS
HostWinBootDrv=C
UninstallDir=C:\
[Options]
BootMulti=1
BootGUI=1
Logo=1
