Can you boot into Safe Mode? First thing to try is, boot into Safe Mode, do
a proper and complete shut down with power off. Reboot and watch for any
error messages.

How long has this been lik this? Did you load any software or make any
changes that might have caused this? Can you do a System Restore while in
Safe Mode?
