- Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library error
- Posted by HomeyG745i on January 6th, 2004
Everytime I right-click on my desktop, I get a
"Microsfot Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
abnormal program termination"
Anyone know what this is and how to fix it? if i click ok
(only option given) the computer closes explorer for good,
and locks up. But if i CTRL+ALT+DEL while the error is
given, and I myself close Explorer, the error goes away,
explorer is still there and the computer "refreshes". This
is really annoying because i was used to having the
shortcut things when i right-click on the desktop. If
anyone has this issue or know how to fix this all comments
welcomed. Thanks

Download and install AdAware to cleanse your system of parasites :
http://lavasoftusa.com
Read the Help file to configure it best to scan your system. Click the
globe icon to get the latest definition files. After doing this, scan
your system. Some files may be in use and AdAware will tell you that you
need to reboot and let it run at startup. If this is not the case,
advise you to do remove what AdAware finds, reboot, and then run it again.
