Posted by Gauthier on February 29th, 2004

Just bought a new computer and i want to transfer my data from my old
computer to the new one. I do not have a cd writer on the old one and my
data is to big for a floppy. Any idea on how i can do this.

Any advise would be helpfull.

Thank-You

Tim.

If you had a router or a hub so you could network and share files this would
be possible

If you have a fast Internet connection and can connect both to the Net,
install AIM on both computers with different screen names and use the Send
File feature to send your files over to the new computer. The good thing
about AIM is that it will let you send folders, not just files, although AIM
calls folders "directories".

Your ISP almost certainly gives you webspace. Upload to this webspace
from the old PC and download from the webspace to the new PC.
(There are also free file storage providers if you don't have
webspace/or not enough with your ISP. ie:-

Connect the 2 NICS with a crossover cable, or use the USB ports.
