What I did to restore things ... was to reinstall a free version I had on my hard drive of Sidekick 98 ... new path ...deleted the old icon on the quick launch bar and everything is back to normal...

The Windows password really won't help you becuase all they have to do is hit cancel and they bypass it. Won't take them long to figure it out.
