How do i get rid of a msg. that keep coming up everytime I

cut"updater.Ink" and advises to check files etc. However

It is probably a shortcut in a Startup group.
Try:
-the Startup folder, C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
-the AllUsers folder C:\Windows\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If not, then...

Check in Msconfig.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)
If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then:

Start-Run-msinfo32
Click the + beside Software Environment to expand.
Click Startup Programs
Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy.
Paste that information in your message.
(and supply the name of the problem item)

....Alan

FWIW, Updater.lnk is probably a spyware starter- which would suggest that
your AV/spyware killer got the beast and not the shortcut.
