Today, I Windows did an improper shut down and after ScanDisk
did it's thing my desktop was not started. I it's [lace was a white
screen with windows text telling me it was unable to start my desktop
and to click 'Restore Desktop' to start it.
Everything seems to be fine now but this was the first time I was ever
presented with such an error before when restarting. Can anyone give
me a bit more information on this??

This is a common occurance after an improper shutdown.
Just click on the button to restore your desktop and
everything will be fine. It is nothing to worry about.
