System performance and start up
Posted by SJ on July 14th, 2003

Two questions:

1) How do I increase system performance---it is currently
@ approx. 73% when viewed under system properties.

2) How do I stop items from starting on the bottom (right
side) of the task bar---I have removed from start menu but
they still appear.

Mine's only 48% resources free, but I've got a load of HP printer & scanner
junk running, so if you've got 75% free, I don't know what you are worrying
about.
Mike.

Mine are at 33% right now, and I'm having NO problems. It doesn't matter if
you have 99% or 1% - the performance will be the same. I currently have 12
icons down in the system tray. Most of them can be removed from Start>Run>
MSCONFIG>Startup, but if they are using only 27% of something that doesn't
matter, then why bother?
