trouble opening icons on desktop
Posted by carol on March 7th, 2004

In the past couple days, every time I click an icon on the
desktop, this very small box appears and I could only open
by clicking the maximize square. It was never like this
before. I could click on an icon and it would immediately
open. Now I get this little box that says file, address, go.
How can I get rid of it?
Thanks for anyone that could help.

can you grab a corner of the square and drage it to a
bigger square? Often IE will open the window to the same
size as the last time it was opened. IF for some reason,
you scaled a window down, then closed the program, the
next time it is opened it will open in the small size. If
you drag it larger, then close it the next time you open
it it will open in the larger size.

Also try this, right click on the icon and go to
properties. Where it says open in normal window change it
to maximize and see if that makes a difference.
