I don't think you want to look too hard for vxdmgr32.exe as it was almost
certainly a worm of some sort. Many worms use that name with one example
being W32.Bamboo. For more details see

did you preferred anti virus application have to report when you last scanned
your system?
I suspect that what has happened is that your AV application has removed the
file but left the entry launching it still in the registry. Use MSConfig and
look for and uncheck any entry on the Startup tab that refers to vxdmgr32.exe.
