I have a Gateway Solo laptop, 800 MHz, 2.5 yr old, which
came with ME. I couldn't "upgrade" to 98/SE back then, so
I have been living with its shortcomings. About half the
time, when I boot, it hangs, and when I finally hit Ctrl-
Alt-Del it eventually gives a message about something not
responding. Sometimes that "something" is "explorer," and
other times it is "mdm." Usually a reboot clears up the
problem, after which it runs fine. I haven't seen much
that applies from a search, so I thought I'd ask if others
have seen this.
