- Artist, Album, Title bug?
- Posted by Roger on January 17th, 2006
Hi!
After ripping my own Audio CD to my computer I started MCE and had problems
with the artist and album title. If I go to;
- Music
- Artists
then everything works as I guess it is supposed to. Artist, album and titles
are all there.
But if I go to;
- Music
- Album
- "Right arrow" to pre select a Album (same Album as above) it showes the
Album but states that the Artist is "Unknowed"
- If I select the Album all titles are showed but the Artist is still
"Unknowed".
- Finally, I pre select a Title and now it suddenly knows the artist.
Is this a MCE bug or am I just stupid??
In MP10 everything looks OK regarding Artist, Album and Title (=METS data OK).
Another thing, when I listen to CD Audio there is a nice picture from the CD
cover. How do I get that into the harddisk?

I've seen the same thing and hope someone can add more insight. It
looks like the "unknown artist" is at the ALBUM level even though there
is an artist associated with all of the tracks at the SONG level..
I'm surprised that noone else has seen this!

copied onto my Mediacenter PC. I've tried deleting these CDs and
recopying them, and the same thing happens. When I try to select one of
these CDs, I get a message suggesting I go to Windows Media Player and
doing a search for other music on my PC
The odd thing is that, if I go out of MCE and into regular XP, and load
up Windows Media Player, these albums show up the same as the rest. The
problem is just in My Music in MCE.

Did you try to change the songs files metatags via Windows Media
