- Cheap Wired Extender Wanted
- Posted by rg on December 18th, 2005
I have just setup a Media Center 2005 pc. Where do I find an
inexpensive extender to hook to my tv? I want a simple device like the
Sage TV Media Extender ($99.00) for a wired network. I don't want to
use an XBox console and the linksys wireless device is too expensive.
Who makes such a device?

There aren't many choices for Media Center Extenders - Linksys and the
Xbox 360 -and provided it has the newer 1.1 software, the original
Xbox extender kit.

What about the HP X5400...I don't know if they're cheap, but I've been unable
to find any information about extenders that aren't the Xbox. Frustrating
for us non-gamers!

The HP x5400 is identical to the Linksys. It's much more likely that
you'd find a Linksys though. And they are not cheap. Try a Froogle
search or look on eBay.
