- DVD Menu Selection Highlight
- Posted by Mike on November 3rd, 2005
When I go to play a DVD video, when looking at the root menu, for some reason
it does not highlight current selection. Therefore I am not sure what the
selection is when I press the Ok button. Most of the time I can assume that
the selection is the top item, but this is not always true.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and if so, what can I do to
fix it?

Are you using a mouse? Does the keyboard and/or remote work properly? Does
this occur with all DVDs?
You may be seeing a known issue that only occurs only when using the mouse
to highlight/select with some DVDs menus (Bourne Identity - Widescreen was
one of them)
If this is the case, the selection are can still be found with the mouse,
it's just slightly higher than the text.

Yes it was the ATI video card drive, driver 5.8 and up work that will fix
your problem

I am using the MS Remote, not keyboard or mouse. The remote works, just no
highlighted selection. Guessing game.
I thought it might be particular DVDs, but found it is all DVDs including my
new Star Wars III.

I thought that I had the latest Catalyst driver installed (must say I am
impressed that you knew it was an ATI card), but I could be wrong. Will check
this evening, between shows of course. Thursday night TV is back to back.
Will let you knoe if I find anything. Thanks for your input.
