Error messages in Media Center
Posted by beccamorgan on November 25th, 2005

At startup I get this message:

'Media Center Host Module has encountered an error and needs to close.'

The error message says something about ehrec.exe, and when I close media
center after accessing the TV, (It isn't set up so it doesn't work anyway) I
get a similar error message. It started appearing after I edited the startup
processess, and I think I removed ehrec.exe. It is now not available to
re-check, so what do I do?

I can post the error signature if it helps.

Thanks,

Rebecca

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services
Scroll down to Media Center Receiver
Select it and make sure the service is set to Automatically start.

In the future, don't disable services that you aren't familiar with,
especially if they are Microsoft services.

In the error report it says ehrec.exe and system.miisingfieldexception or
something similar.

Hope that helps,

Thanks again,

Becca
