Extenders with DVD players
Posted by mike on November 13th, 2005

Does anyone know if/when Linksys, HP, or other will release a MCExtender with
a built-in DVD player? That's a very simple (and seemingly obvious!)
solution to all the DRM nastiness about remote DVD-playback. Otherwise,
there's very little reason to not just use an XBOX360 in every room (hmmn,
maybe I have stumbled on a nefarious MS method to madness there..) as that
provides games, DVD-playback, and access to all MCE content in a single
interface for about $450 CDN while a MCExtender with extra DVD would cost
about the same but no games and two remotes.

Just curious..

not sure if that will happen with the extenders but i do think these companys
should turn themselfs into charity companies then we can just send em
money...but of course we can still buy the stuff for ex this movie will only
play if you use it at 3 am in the morning while you are standing on your head
with your back hand in your pocket oh and by theway you may also watch this
movie while using the bathroom (hey its because we care about you that were
so generous)....sorry....the xbox thing seems to be the best way right now
thats what ill be doing and ditchiong my extender
