- Glitch and where can I get the fix for?
- Posted by Pat-Keone on October 31st, 2005
I am positively sure I am not the only one who have encountered this problem.
The Fall back 1 hour time change - took effect, the system time changed on
my Media Center swiftly, but my recording series took 1 hour step back, i.e.
instead my recording to take place at 3:00pm it adjusted it to 2:00pm, so I
had to erase my previous set times and re-set it up again. This sucks! This
is the 2nd time it happened -- it also happened when the daylight time
changed last spring.
Background: This is a Media Center 2004 upgraded to 2005. HP M480N and
everything -- all the HP fixes were downloaded and applied prior to upgrading
it to 2005. Is there anyone complaining about this?

Is your timezone correctly set?
It probably isn't, hence the glitch that you are observing.
Double click the time/date display in your system tray, and make sure that
i) the time is correct
ii) the date is correct
iii) the time zone is correct (and that windows is modifying the daylight
saving setting properly - in your case, you want windows to handle it
automatically).
That should fix your problem. (Make sure MCE is closed when you make the
time zone changes, and you may have to run through the guide setup again
after changing the time zone settings)

Yes sir, it is currently the present time - for CST, as I said so on the
original post.
I did not have to adjust it -- because it is correct.

On my HP computer, the timezone setting wasn't quite right (it was set to
Eastern but the daylight saving was wrong).
Try changing it to something else, accept the change by Ok'ing out, and then
change it to the proper setting (Central). That should properly set it up
(if it isn't already).
