Hiding toolbars when playing DVDs in Media Center
Posted by msl on December 3rd, 2005

When playing DVDs in Media Center, we see a bar along the top (with media
Center icon, back button, help button on left, and minimize, maximize, close
buttons on right) and on the bottom, controls to play, pause, stop, next
chapter, volume, etc. They are distracting, and also make the letterbox
narrower than it is meant to be, thereby distorting the picture and wasting
~3 inches on top and bottom. I would like to hide them but can't figure out
how--right clicking on either doesn't offer the option, nor does double
clicking on the video picture work. I've also been through the Media Center
help and settings, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure it is maximized and that the pointer of the mouse is somewhere in
the middle of the screen. If that doesn't work use the remote (pause and
play or turn up the sound or something) to take away the focus of the mouse.
