MCE 2005 Locks UP
Posted by Osteocruncher on February 3rd, 2006

Hi,

When ever I watch a TV channel for a certain time or My Movies Film or when
a My Movies film ends then my remote control stops working (so cannot change
channel, pause, rewind program or movie or DVD) and I have to do a reboot.
Starting to get slightly annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions? I
recently added a second Hauppauge WinPVR 150 MCE tuner, I also added another
512mb RAM. My MCE machine is Intel Celeron 2.93 MHZ.

I have updated the NVIDIA decoder but says it's incompatible with WMP 10
using DECCHECK?
I have updated the Hauppauge drivers to latest versions.

Since adding the second RAM Module it only shows I have 0.99 RAM in windows
system but bios says 1018MB RAM. Would this be causing the problem?

Any suggestions would be great.

Chances are you downloaded a generic decoder and not the
NVidia PureVideo Decoder. This seems to be the MPEG-2
decoder of choice. There is a 30-day trial for it though.
See this link:

Another optional decoder which works for me is the Cyberlink PowerDVD
MPEG-2 decoder. My copy of PowerDVD and decoder came with my DVD
drive.

Thanks, Will take a look.

I downloaded the Nvidia decoder from the website page that the DECCHECK
update button took me to.

How can I tell which NVIDIA decoder version I have?

Cannot seem to locate it in my add/remove programs?

Thanks Again
