is it possible to install Media Center Edition along with a 64 bit version
of XP?
along with driver support and such?

Nope, no 64-bit version of Media Center exists...you'll have to wait a year
until Vista comes out. In addition, there are no 64-bit tuner drivers nor
dvd decoders...

On a dual boot system, yes, in separate partitions or drives of course.
There is no 64 bit version of MCE.

the intent is to install a 64 bit version of XP (along with MCE) on a 64 bit
machine?
so when i'm developing on the machine, then i can get full 64 bit, but i can
also use it for MCE.

so i guess this means that the 64 bit MCE machines that are out there are
actually running 32 bit versions of XP

You're correct. There is no 64 bit version of the MCE components for Windows XP.
