I'm having problems w/ the IR blaster on my Media Center remote. I would
like to use the IR blaster to control the volume on my audio
receiver(Yamaha). I was able to "learn" the volume function on the Microsoft
remote from the receivers remote. The Microsoft remote will change the
volume on the reciever directly, but will not change volume through the IR
blaster. I've confirmed placement of the bud. Tried both outputs and both
transmitter buds, installed rollup 2 update, nothing seems to work. (MCE
2005)


Is the transmitter defective? Any suggestions or things to try?

The IR blaster will not send signals to control the Reciever, only a STB.
Some remotes (like yours) can learn the Reciever's codes but then the signal
is coming from the remote and not the blaster.
