Media Center 2005, Volume button doesnt affect SPDIF jack on mothe
Posted by TriggerfingerEd on November 7th, 2005

Im using Media center 2005

It works fine, except that when I try to lower the volume it doesnt affect
my SPDIF output on the back of my mother board. (Asus A8n-SLI) The Spdif is
connected to my Surround stereo reciever..
any ideas
Im thinking its using the driver from PowerDVD or and not the driver from
Realtek on my mother board.
The Volume on the regular Media PLAYER affects the spdif and works fine,
Just wont do it with Media CENTER 2005...

Is it possible to select wich audio driver for media center 2005 to use?

The SPDIF is using your WAVE output, and not the Volume output, so you need a
little utility that will track your WAVE ouput when you adjust your volume in
MCE 2k5. The one I use is called "Volume tracker" (I think..or maybe
WAVETracker), and it loads from your startup group. Look on google or
elsewhere for a similar utility and all should be good again.

Copy the IR from the amp remote to the MCE remote, Microsoft Media Center
