Media Center Crashing when accessing Network hard Drive
Posted by Kenmiller01 on November 3rd, 2005

I am having an issue with accessing a network hard drive through media
center. This is a hard drive that is plugged into the same router as the
media center. I can map a drive and access via the OS, however when I add
the files through media center - the application crashes. Any ideas here? I
have done two things with same result 1. Added the files via the local
computer (via the mapped drive) and 2. added files via another computer on
the network (the hard drive itself) both ways crash the app. Please advise
if you have come into the same issue or you know of a resolotion.

image and music files?
what exact hardware? have you shared the folders and checked the
permisions and security?

you should not have to map the drive. does this networked drive have a
static IP?
