Need help with (original) xbox extender
Posted by nate on March 7th, 2006

I rebuilt my PC two weeks ago. I got all the windows updates and everything.
I use McAfee Internet Security Suite 7. I went to setup my xbox media center
extender, but for some reason, the computer can not add or recognize xbox.
I'm not sure what is causing the problem. It seems maybe communication or
something. There are times it seems they are talking, but they dont connect.
I chose to configure manually, uncheck make all my documents available and
uncheck same media folders. It then gets to creating user account, then
setup error, retry setup again.

Also, I saw that there is an Update Rollup 1 for Xbox Live? How do I go
about getting it if I do not have Xbox Live anymore? Could that be why it's
not
working?

I have the PC and Xbox discs version 1.01.

Any help, please.

Extremely Frustrated!
Nate

As for your second question - the rollup 1 update is not needed to get
connected. Also, since you have the v1.01 discs, it's not relevant anyway.
