My system came with a PCI Express X16 video card. What kind of card goes
in the PCI Express X1 slot. Do they actually have cards for this slot?

Yes, but doubtful you would find a useful purpose for it.
PCIe 1x support 5Gbps or so throughput (not including overhead - 2.5 each
way.).. 16x 80Gpbs. 16x supports much higher power also for graphics cards.
Maybe a RAID controller card. Or a NIC. But probably nothing.
