Online Spotlight
Posted by DRL_JR on February 13th, 2006

I have used the Online Spotlight in the past to access Mtv Overdrive with no
problems, but now it tells me that I need to upgrade my flash plug-in. I have
followed the instructions for downloading the plug-in several times in
Windows Media Center, and have done so by going directly to the Macromedia
website in Internet Explorer as well, but the message telling me that I need
to upgrade still appears and I cannot access Mtv Overdrive or MtvU.

Thanks for any help!

Have you tried unstalling Flash (Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs) and
reinstalling it?

I am have the same problem. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, the whole
bit. I even went to the point of formatting the hard drive (because of other
issues) but now I don't have those online spotlights like overdrive. If you
ever solve this issue can you please email me?

If I figure it out I will let you know. What I did find is that if you simply
go to the Mtv Overdrive website in Internet Explorer it works fine.
Therefore, it must be an issue with MCE.

Same issue here as well. It's clearly a Microsoft issue with Media Center.

I too have the same issue and it's really annoying. I just purchased the 360
and was able to play vh1 on it at first but now all I get is a request for me
to update my Flash player. Please Microsoft, fix this!

Man! if they don't get their act together Sony is going to kick their arse
this winter with the PS3.
