- Photos not showing in Media Center
- Posted by sharke on October 20th, 2005
I have a new PC running Media Center. On my C: Drive I have all my photos
stored, within the normal Windows XP environment I can view them fine.
However, when in the Media Center it sees the folders but whenever I then try
to open the different folders with all my photos in it tells me that "No
pictures were found. Either there are no pictures, or you are viewing an
empty folder." I know this to be untrue as I can view them fine within the
traditional Windows environment! Please can someone help????

Richard, I've looked in regedit and it does have that content type. It's
just odd cos the normal Windows GUI sees all my photos fine, it's just the
Media Center interface that doesn't..
Any other ideas?
thanks

Richard,
I went back into Regedit, double clicked on Content Type, then in the dialog
box re-typed over with "image/jpeg", hit OK and then File, Exit. No
difference made in Media Center though. I've never really used Regedit
before so am assuming I've done the right thing.
Any other ideas?
cheers

I just had the same problem last night- I was loading photoshop 7 and it
changed all the viewer information to photoshop and after that none of the
pictures showed up in MC- I beleive it has something to do with the viewers.
I removed photshop and tried using window and fax viewer, adobe 6, photo
impression - etc etc etc I still can not get my photos to register in MC
eventhough they are routed to the correct file and I can open them through
windows explorer- if you find someone who can figure this out I would
appreciate it as well
