- Problem playing DVDs
- Posted by Norman Kaye on February 19th, 2008
If I create a DVD from a TV programme recorded via Media Center I can watch
it on the PC throught Media Center or via Media Player but NOT in my stand
alone DVD player.
I get the message "unrecognised disc" or "not a valid disc".
Can anyone tell me why and is there anything I can do about it?
Thank you.

Are you creating a video DVD or just copying the files as data? If the
latter, then most DVD players can not read a raw computer data format.

And some older, and I expect current cheaper, DVD players don't tolerate
homemade DVDs. Can you create any sort of DVD, say from Movie Maker, and
play it.
