Don't know if you have solved this, but as I recall on the Audigy you need
not only to select SPDIF out, but also to select Bit Accurate mode. This
will then allow you to output the DTS bitstream to the decoder. The reason
you are hearing white noise is that the Audigy is decoding what it thinks is
a legitimate PCM audio track to uncompressed audio, and then converting it
again to PCM before sending it down the SPDIF. Selecting Bit Accurate mode
ensures that it does not get decoded before being sent out. However, I did
notice that this setting would not hold following a reboot, so be aware of
that.
