TSOLfan -

Were you ever able to get SQL Server 2000 Standard to install on MCE 2005?
I'm getting the same message and would love to get around it.

Thanks,
Neal

Server will not install on Windows XP, which is the Media Center Edition
operating system. It needs to be installed on a supporting system (check
the documentation), or host Server.

Actually, on my laptop I'm running XP Pro and SQL Server 2000 Standard
installed fine. It was just with XP MCE 2005 (which is supposed to be
compatible with XP Pro) where it didn't install.

Correct. I posted the wrong thing. Still digging. 8-) The MCE machines
all run Windows XP Pro.
